How do we show up and make our lives matter?
How do we connect with those who need encouragement?
How do we inspire people to get unstuck in life?
As I have been preparing for a speaking engagement next month these questions have been swirling in my mind and heart. More than anything I want my life to matter. I want my life to be marked for His good NOT my own.
The difficulty with this is sometimes life gets busy and we lose sight of the goal.
Sometimes we can even get caught up in watching what others are doing instead of continuing on our own unique path.
We have to know what we are called to do and what we are not called to do with our lives.
We have to know what is our driving force and why we are doing what we are doing.
And more than anything we have to realize there are people watching us and waiting to see us succeed… because, they too want to know it is possible to jump!
Being on the hook is a privilege. It means people around us are trusting us to contribute, counting on us to deliver.
It’s not something to avoid. -Seth Godin
Yes, we will have haters.
Yes, we will hear the critics.
Yes, there will be days of doubt.
But, the beauty is when we choose to keep showing up everyday we are building strength and determination. We are taking our dreams and making them a reality… whatever your dream is for your life.
Wife.
Mom.
Writer.
Singer.
Entrepreneur.
Nurse.
Business owner.
Inventor.
There is a need for your passion.
There is a purpose for you life.
What is it that excites you when you wake up?
What is it that you dream about during the day?
Now…
What would you have to sacrifice to make those dreams come true?
What do you need to give up to start working towards your dream?
Sacrifice.
Determination.
Endurance.
Gumption.
You have what it takes to succeed.
You just need to want it more than you want failure.
I have failed enough over the years to know that I am no willing to shrink back anymore. I am not willing to give up my dreams out of fear of failure. Every time we fail we learn something new. We only stop learning when we stop trying to succeed.
When you fall you have to pick yourself back up again.
You have to lace your shoes up and keep showing up.
There will be pain.
There will be bruises.
There will be tears.
And there will also be victory and celebration when you STOP giving in and giving up on yourself.
I know there will be days I show up and no one will listen.
I know there will be days I make a mistake and lose a little bit of credibility.
I know there will be times I wished I had done something different or better but, I will NEVER again wonder what would happen if I NEVER gave up… because, that is no longer an option for me.
And giving up is NOT an option for you either.
Dream BIG.
BE Courageous.
Shine BRIGHT.
Father God help us to show up for ourselves today. Give us strength to push through our excuses. When it hurts give us endurance and when we want to quit give us power. Thank You for this tough life changing process of showing up and being seen. Amen!
